Two years after Hurricane Katrina slammed New Orleans, the population of the Crescent City is estimated to be approaching 300,000, compared to the 2000 census count of 484,674. The metropolitan area as a whole is closing in on its pre-disaster population of 1.4 million. In the wake of the storm, though, one business has managed to nearly double its customer count: satellite TV.
